Anode Cup - Loose or Tight?
« on: March 03, 2004, 05:16:12 pm »
Just putting back together a monitor I took apart (for the first time) and am havnig truoble re-attaching the anode cup.

Now I wish I had my digital camera with me, but since I don't...

Just wondering how far the clip goes in and how tight it should be.  It's a pretty rigit clip and with some strength I can get the two little claw parts into the tube, but I am wondering if it is supposed to go in deeper... or is it the function of the suction cup to hold it in?

Thanks.

The clips go under the edge of the hole to make the electrical connection and the suction cup holds things in place.

Thanks for the info.

I took another looked at it, and it physically looked impossible for the clip to go in any further... without basically having to squeeze the clip with Superman like power.

The clips are just that, clips to hold it in place.  The cup just keeps it sealed from other things from going in.

It shouldn't be as tight as a screw, at the same time it shouldn't be super loose..  It does have a small amount of play.

Hope this helps.
