MAME scanlines
« on: March 03, 2004, 12:53:13 pm »
Hi,

I'm running command line MAME throuh Windows XP Pro.
My video card is an A-Open GeForce 4 MX-440

I'm running on an old crappy CRT monitor.  On many of the games I see a scan line that moves from bottom to top of screen (kind of like on a dvd player).

I thought that MAME sets the resolution for each game.  Why am i seeing this scan line and how can I make it go away?

Do I have to program resolution settings for each game in MAME?  Or is it my crappy monitor?

Any advice is truly appreciated.
Thanks.

It sounds like your crappy monitor to me....  I have a similar setup on an old Compaq 151FS 15" monitor and it looks fine.  Maybe you should trying setting a specific resolution for a game or two and see if the problem goes away.  Also maybe check your driver and upgrade if possible.

Other than that, could just be the monitor.

Thanks.  How do I set resolutions for individual games?
How do I change the command line for each game I want different resolution settings on?

Or does anyone know a good general resolution to set that will look good with all games?
