I've done the reading on component connections to a TV and I was wondering if there was a general consensus on the best way of doing so. Is it necessary to get a video card that actually has the three RBG prongs (Y1, Y2 I believe)? Will a NVidea GE Force 4 be able to handle this conversion by going through some kind of adapter?
Also, of everything I've read in relation to the best choice for a monitor, I can't seem to determine whether or not a TV is the only method capable of playing both horizontal and vertical games without the need to rotate the screen? I have a 27" tv and all games play on it, but my computer monitor cuts vertical games off unless I use the in-game bezels, which I'm not a fan of. Everywhere I've looked it appears that a computer needs to be rotated. Is that the case with an arcade monitor as well?
On a sidenote, do any arcade monitors come in a casing? While I'd like the authenticity of an arcade monitor in my cabinet the idea of accidentally shocking or killing myself due to the current doesn't sound appealing to me. That's the one thing that terrifies me about that method.
