Heres a quick emu question-- are there any 2600 emulators out there that allow you to specify the controls? My cp is set up very different from a normal mame setup, and all of the 2600 emus I can find are all permanently set a specific way. I've tried all 3 types of Stella and Z26. I am running WinXP Pro. Any suggestions?

interesting question... since stella is open source perhaps someone should add an ini file instead of just hacking in different input values?

Hmmmm-- not being much of a programmer myself, I wouldn't know much about doing that.  Maybe there is some kind of program similar to one of your wrappers that captures keystrokes going to a program and changes them to something else? That would work, but I don't know if such a program exists, or would be worth the trouble....

There was a guy that was working with the stella programmer, to make a remapped "cab friendly" version of the popular 2600 emu.  I thought I read it on here, but it could have been on mameworld or alt.games.mame  I actually think that they produced a working version, but if they did I never got a copy.  Does that tweak anyone's memory?

I'm having a tricky problem with Z26...  the game loads just fine, plays fine, but when I exit the game, MameWah loses focus or something causing it to hang.  I then have to use the TaskManager to close MameWah.

Now the funny thing is, when I first set up MameWah and Z26 (also MAME and mekaw), it had the same problem, but it started working, and was working (about 1 week) fine until today.  I did not change anything-- no updates, no layout changes, nothing.

Current Z26 Emu settings:
Send ROM Path - Yes
Send ROM Extension - Yes
Use Long Filenames - No
Show DOS Box - Yes

Any ideas?

Thanks, Paul.

Yeah, use one of my wrappers on it.... as they will be the last thing to get focus and are programmed to return focus to the app that launched them you should be good to go.
