Encapsulated transformer specs (CRT repair)
« on: March 20, 2021, 12:53:16 pm »
I have a studio type CRT that I bought years ago for a future cab that I never built. Last year I had time on my hands so I pulled it out for use in a light gun console setup. The monitor has SCART input and I was able to confirm it worked with my DC but it had some issues with color.  I located some components that were questionable and replaced them (capacitors primarily).

After repair it worked fine for a few minutes and then all went dark. There is an LED onboarding that no longer lit up, so I assumed it was a power issue. I put it aside as I had a Sony tube that I could use at the time.

Fast forward 1 year and I want to try to get it going again.  I have traced 115v on the power side of the board to the encapsulated transformer that bridges to the low voltage side. I have no specs on the component so am blind. I tested voltage (both AC and DC) between all output side pins and see nothing useful (mV range).  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If there are techs who still work on CRT in the Seattle area I'd certainly appreciate a heads up!
