Question for you Mortal Kombat II fans
« on: February 22, 2004, 01:18:06 pm »
My memory is failing me, but which version of MK II was the one with the Sub-Zero "re-freeze" fatality glitch?

This was where you could keep doing the first part of his fatality over and over and it would reset the fatality timer.

I use to love playing as Shang Tsung and morphing to Sub-Zero, doing the freeze and then morphing to someone else to finish the fatality.

My favorite was morphing to Liu Kang and finishing it off with what I liked to call the "Dragon-cicle".

Ahh the memories of arcades.

wow - that is quite specific ;]

Perhaps there is a MK2 site out there dedicated to all of the little details...seems like many of the ppl on here are a bit more into the "old school" games.

MK2 was my fav MK in the arcades...and I don't know much about the glitches and whatnot - sorry.
5 MAME cabs and counting...

Ever wonder what full side art looks like?

Mk is actually quite popular round these parts so don't judge.  :P

This is just by my shoddy memory.  (I was never into glitches, so I don't remember that well.)  I think that mk2 was famous for the johnny cage "phantom uppercut" fatality. Mk1 did the subzero glitch.  I'm not certain though.

There isn't anything in the MK2 Glitch FAQ about it.:

I did some asking around about this and I think it's version two.  I'll check it out tonight when I get home.

Basically, you do the first part of Sub-Zero's finisher over and over.  Each time you do, it "restarts" the fatality timer, which allows you if you're Shang-Tsung to morph into someone else.

It's pretty cool.  I remember showing this to someone the first time and mad them furious because you can indefinately keep the person stuck in the "freeze" part of the fatality.  What a way to rub it in...

p.s. I'm a bad winner.  ;)

You sir, know exactly what you are talking about.  I loved doing the Dragon-sicle.  What about fire and ice?  I think it was version 1 though b/c it seems like they took it out ASAP when they found out it was happening.  Please post on here when you find it though.  X
