Controller not working on some games in MAME

It's sunday  : i download a MAME plus version from the ---No torrents please - thanks!---, only to find out that the controller is not working at all.
Google tells me to dig into the INI of MAME there i enabled it but it is still not working on some games so i think i must add something in the INI's of NEOGEO and such, couldent find it trough google maybe you guys know more? screenshot is attached, maybe i need to replace the core input to something else, or controller 1 to the line of code, i appreciate the help.

Fixed,  had to put in (joystick 1) under (core input options) right under(ctrlr  standard), the option came in the inis after trying alot of games
