TV Cab Users - Overheating

my tv gave out after about a week after i got my cab together, i was wondering if anyone has some tips on how to avoid this happening again, i was told it over heated causing fortunatly a not so expensive part to break, cost about 35bucks canadian, so about 20US i bet.

My cab is a old Midway Open Ice Hockey Cabinet, with a new Control panel put in. it was gutted and i have a 27inch Toshiba TV in there about 8 years old, decent TV tho.

If anyone can help me out let me know.

After a 1/2 hour of use the buttons on the front of my cabinet TV would get noticeably warm--very disturbing.  A cheap $5 box fan that stands on the top of the computer tower blows cool air directly into the vents on the back of the TV.  My cabinet doesn

hmmm, well im building a showcase style cab. and i wont be able to put a fan in the tv part.  what are my options for cooling?

I have a toshiba in my cabinet too, never had any problems with heat, but my basement is usually pretty cool and I often have the back off of my cabinet.  I would suggest a big cheap quiet fan in the bottom of the cabinet, just for air circulation.  You can buy box fans or oscillating fans for cheap, and they are usually pretty quiet if you set them on low.
Make sure there is a vent in the back of the cabinet above the TV to allow hot air out and a vent in the bottom to allow cooler air in.
