CRAP! Did i ruin my monitor?

Ok, so I bought a 19" WG monitor a while ago...its the "PC" type....can't think of the model # right now. anyway, the thing is I installed it into my cab and up above, behind the marquee was a 6x9 stereo speaker. I went to remove it today and my monitor went crazy with the screen color.... basically the magnet screwed stuff up. so, I couldn't get it to look normal unless I put the speaker back in place! Am I screwed now? I think I am...  :-\

All that means is that the monitor has adjusted to the magnetic field created by the speakers--if you take it away and let it de-gauss a bunch of times (either manually or with the monitors de-gausser)--it should come back in a day or so--if it doesn't then you're screwed  ;)

crap, ok i'll remove the damn thing and see. but i dont see any de-guass option in the onscreen options of this monitor.... hmmm

Your speaker was mounted too close to the monitor. You should move the speaker farther away or get a "magnetically shielded" speaker. Now you'll need to buy a manual degaussing coil from Bob Roberts.

When I change the position of my cabinet, the Hantarex 25" shows wrong colors in some areas of the screen due to heart and in-house magnetic field change. Degauss does not solve the problem, but it disappear after about an hour of power off. I can suggest you to take the speaker far away from the monitor and wait a couple of days before get worried (get worried...is it right in english? guess is not...I mean 'before there is a serious chance the monitor is bad').

YAHOO!! Ok, so I took the speaker out last night, and I just fired up my cab and it looks fine!
Next question is, will PC speakers effect it at all? I have like 2 3" ones up there now.

PC speakers are magnetically sheilded...so, no the won't screw with your monitor.
