Smart Candy crane
« on: March 04, 2020, 12:40:11 pm »
I just picked up a 5th gen Smart candy crane. Nonworking. wires inside have been cut and are a bit of a mess. I have the manual but was hoping someone on here has this same machine and could post or PM me some pictures of the inside? Especially wires going into the mainboard.  The power supply was missing and ordered a new one. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Well, I ended up running some new wires, and power supply. Using the manual I was able to figure it out. (With a lot of testing). Also, the board had a bad ceramic capacitor that I replaced. The game now starts up with sounds and the crane moves once I add credits. The only thing now is when I hit the button to drop the crane it freezes and won't do anything. Maybe the cord is wrapped up backward? Or could something else cause that? Off to work now back at it tonight.

Replaced the string on the claw and it is working great now. The other string was too short and would wrap up the wrong way every time claw was dropped. The only and hopefully last problem with this machine is that the optical sensor is not working. It is ending the game even if nothing is dropped saying, Winner. I will keep trying to adjust the sensor but so far not making any difference. Does anyone know if the sensor itself or something else that is prone to failure? Photoeye interface board has red led light on, is this normal?
