GREETS ALL!....

Well MameMaster did it again. Please keep in mind while I've gotten lucky recently with great prices on accessories I've make plenty of expensive mistakes!

Any hoo....here's the score:

   you all know I've been jonesing for a Flight Yoke for Star Wars....we'll I've found one for $12.99!!

It's a discontinued G Force Flight Yoke originally priced at about $50.00. It's so old...it included a Windows 95 3.5" disk for the drivers.

Bottom line....it took a few minutes to get it up and running....but it plays Star Wars like a dream! (My dream).

I'm going to pick up from radio shack a controller to USB convertor to make it easier for me to swap it in/out of my control panel....but here's are a few pics for your enjoyment!

PPS- I also just picked up an Interact Force Feedback Steering Wheel for XBox/GameCube/Playstation (multi prong adaptors included) from Toys R US. It was $80. and it works great!....obviously XBox (I don't own a playstation) doesn't officially support Force Feedback; but the wheel provides resistance when you steer and crash. It works perfectly w/Apex for example!....and is a lot of fun!

Why not just call that EBX in the Livingston Mall and ask them to mail it to you?

Here is the good/bad about this thing as I tried it out for a few hours last night:

Good- Works w/Paperboy PERFECTLY. It really emulates the unique controller for that game. For me, that is worth the price of admission.

Good- Plays StarBlade very well.

Bad- It's analogue. So racing games don't work as well as I had hoped. Road Blasters is almost impossible to play. Same w/Outrun.

....also, Star Wars works well....but again, this is analogue so the movement isn't as smooth as I would like (but hey, I wouldn't be an arcade freak if I didn't nit pick).

I have a few more games I would like to try it with like Turbo, but I didn't have the time last night.

Bottom line: For $12.99 you simply can't go wrong. Even if you just play around with this thing.

Oh yeah, I picked up the controller to USB convertor at radio shack for $16.99. That works perfectly w/this thing.

uhm... I got a similiar deal from a gamespot or EBX or something last year on the same yoke... but I found it unsatisfactory for Star Wars play... *Shrug* so much so I bought a real yoke (But at 12.99 who can complain)

I ended up giving it to a buddy who likes flight sims.

Star Wars and Out Run are analog games too. I own an Out Run, and my best friend has a Stun Runner (same controller as Star Wars), and both have pots inside just like that yoke.

The problem with the Star Wars yoke is that it is INCREDIBLY fast, you can't move a PC yoke like you can a star wars one.

Out Run should work fine if you mess with the settings.

...yeah I've been playing with it and if I have the time I could probably get it to work better.... but I've been on a game collecting & gadget collecting roll lately....so far:

1) XBox Light gun w/House of the Dead
( I couldn't hold out anymore).

2) Flight Yoke

3) Dreamcast Steering wheel and games

4) XBox Forceback wheel w/games

Phew!!!....some were bargains...some not so much....but ALL GOOD!!!

I love this stupid hobby!
