Author Topic: NEED GALAXIAN SIDE ART! ARGH (Read 2855 times)

Hey guys. I'm just writing to see if ANYone knows, or has any info on where to find Galaxian sideart. I mean this is near impossible. it seems as though no one ever has, nor ever will make it. (although apperantly they are the easiest cabs to find, and everyone and their mother has a marquee for it) Even if I could get a scan, or find out how to make a 5 foot long scan, I could re create it myself. but alas, no such luck. So I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out, pleeeease! Any advice? Thanks so much you guys rock!

No luck finding Galaxian sideart, perhaps you might have to learn to make vector artwork. Here is a small picture of the sideart which you probably have already.

Hey Retro,

Thanks for the pic. I have a few actually, but every little bit helps. You know what's ironic about this? I'm actually a pretty darn good graphic artist. I admit however I haven't worked much with vector files, but I was thinking if I actually had a full sized scan for like photoshop, I could so easily fix it perfectly, and even modify it a bit for printing. So I'm thinking, why don't I take my scanner out in the garage, lay the game on it's side, and scan each section (making sure to overlap) and put them all back together on the computer to make a final print? It could work! And yeah I know it will be huge at 300 dpi, but I think my system can squeeze it out. Any suggestions?

I'll be happy to have a go at vecorizing it if you can provide me with some high quality pics to use for reference. This could take a while though, it's pretty detailed.

After opening that jpg in Illustrator I can say for sure that I'm going to need a much higher quality pic before I can get very far with this one. If someone has one please post it.

hey stingray.. that'd be so awesome if you'd have a go at it! Tell you what, I'll borrow a high res digital cvam in a day or so and go out to take some big --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules-- pics of the artwork. That should help a lot, thanks!

This is about all I could do from the picture that was posted. If you can take some good high res pics that would be great. With good pics to start with I'll probably begin again. Like I said, though, even with good quality pics this will probably take a while. Couple weeks maybe.

Oh Crap! Strinray man, I totally boofed... my bad. I had a lapse of thought and had to borrow a digital cam, and when a friend fell through and loaning it, I forgot about the pics! I'm going to get one from my brother today and get them to you, do you have a personal email or something I can get them to? I really appreciate the offer, and am so sorry it took so long!

FINALLY!!!! I finally got the camera to take the pics of the cabinet art! man, I'm so incredibly sorry it took so long. Anyways, I hosted them on a server and took a bunch of different pics. As close as I could get, and a recreation pic tht was three close ups pieced together. you can tell where they don't match up 100%, but man, you can zoom in for some REALLY close up detail that should help a lot. I know it's pretty intense in there. Oh FYI. the coloring in the big pics is going to be off due to the flash. but I'm also including some bigger pics I found on the net that have the similar coloring of the real thing for refrence. There's only like 4 colors total in the thing, so once you get them, you know they're the same all throughout the pic, I really hope you're able to help me out, this is so awesome! here are the links:
