So this is a weird one, and I can't even begin to figure out how to google this.
I am using a J-Pac going to a genuine Wells Gardner standard res arcade monitor, and an ATI video card compatible with Atom15/CRTEmudriver for GroovyMAME.
I do need to get into the BIOS a fair amount because I like to overclock. So I successfully flash Atom 15 v 1.5 (only 15khz is checked) and...nice! I can see my BIOS screen and adjust the settings for my overclocking.
The issue is about 50/50 when I boot my MAME cabinet (a Windows 10 64 bit core i7), I may or may not get an ugly looking desktop. Sometimes it will look as good as it always does, sometimes everything will have a very weird look. I can't explain it, but basically text on desktop icons becomes very difficult to read (like there's some weird interlacing going on or something?) and then when I try to launch any of my games in groovyMAME, the game will display incorrectly. The game will be VERY wide screen with huge gaps on the top and the bottom of the screen.
I can reboot the machine and hope for a 50/50 chance of it fixing it, but this is very cumbersome and a pain to explain to guests who want to play my cabinet.
Does anyone know why this is happening? The confusing thing is it only SOMETIMES happens. A reboot will usually fix it. But then it will come back again, without fail.
If anyone could please help me fix this issue I would be eternally grateful!
