Sinstar Art?
« on: February 15, 2004, 08:23:49 pm »
Anyone got a high-resolution scan or recreation of the SINSTAR marquee or other artwork?  I'd like to add it to a multi-Williams CPO and marquee I'm modifying.

Thanks!

Email OSCAR - he has a sinstar cabinet. If you asked nicely, he might take a high quality picture of the side

Oscar was the guy!  Within a few hours of the email, I had the .JPGs in hand.  Thanks for the suggestion! ;D

got another suggestion - how about posting the pics here for the rest of us?  I was working on vectorizing some Sinistar art, but any additional pics to what I have helps, and I'm sure there are others here who could use them, it'll save oscar a lot of e-mail! :-)

Sure, but Oscar's better camera died, so what he shot for me aren't the highest resolution.  ....how do I post a file?

how big are the files?  you can include up to 250k files in a post, or maybe you can upload them if you talk to one of the mods?

damn, if those are with a dead camera I can't begin to imagine with a better-working one!  nice shots!  I'll be working on those over the weekend, if I get vector files done I can put them somewhere (not Mametrix as I don't see the point of uploading files to a site that people can't access any of the files on)...   more to follow...

I'd like to get a copy of the vectors....I don't have AI, but I can get someone to convert to jpg at the right size and resolution once they are converted.

not a problem, Zorg has offered to host the files when I'm done. The only tricky part will be the shading on the marquee and CPO, since it's just dithered black... I can save them out as large as you want in JPG or TIFF format when I'm done.

I propose to every one of you producing vector art, to host the files as lomg as the vector library is unavailable.

update - I have the sideart vectorized, I'm moving on to the monitor bezel and then the control panel overlay; gonna work on the marquee last as it's the most complicated for me. I'll be e-mailing zorg the sideart eps files tonight, so check with him as to when it's uploaded in a day or two.

I have not received the files.

1) please if you want to send me some vector stuff by mail use in the subject line the following flag
[VECTOR ART]
eg [VECTOR ART] sinistar.

this way the file will be dropped to a specific mail box, and get my attention quickly ;)

2) check you are not virus infected, I don't fear any viruses, but the mail will not reach my mailbox.

ShdoHawk,

Can you save the side art as a 300dpi jpg with the smallest dimension about 10" and then email it to me?  I can work with that to add it to my Williams Arcade Classics marquee and CPO.  (WAC has Defender, Stargate, Bubbles, Joust, Robotron, and Sinistar, so I started with the Williams Multigame CPO and marquee that Nannuu used on his multi-game.)

Thanks!

Well I was having trouble with my e-mail and "Ravage" beat me to it on http://www.localarcade.com/4images/  :'(

He uploaded a complete side for Sinistar as an AI file.

I'm still going on with my project, but in the meantime that artwork is great, better than mine had come out (I revised it in the interim to be more easily cut apart, but the lines on the one from Ravage are better)

Thanks!  ;D
