Atom-15 with D9400 and windows 8.1
« on: October 10, 2019, 09:56:08 pm »
I upgraded to windows 8.1 and was getting out of range till window started with video card that  I had set up with atom-15.  So I restored and reflashed the card.  but now it will not give me a no image display no matter if I choose bio mod I choose 15 25 or 31.  if I restore to normal then I get out of range till windows starts.  am I missing something?

What is a D9400? Google isn't helping me...

Most likely the reflash hasn't worked right. Have you got taken the pristine bios and modded that again and tried it?

So, on your older (Win 8.0? Win 7) setup, you had an Atom-15 flashed card, and crt_emudriver installed, and you could see the post screens during boot and then windows came up fine and your games worked as desired, yes? And you haven't changed any hardware or done anything else apart from upgrade to Win 8.1, which you did while this machine was in the configuration above?

I would scruple to guess that your doing the latter has led windows to make some odd choices. A clean copy of windows would be advised, although i think it being a bios problem is more likely.

"ATOM-15 is not guaranteed to work with UEFI bios."
That could explain why you're not getting any video during the bios.

Hah, i did type that, and then edited it out. I think i decided he meant that he'd waited around and windows never actually loaded after the black screens :)

Yep, not showing anything on the ios screens with Atom15 is a known issue. Windows should still boot normally, however.

OK I got it to work sort of.  I have atom set to 31 since its a quadsync but if I shut down and restart windows opens squished but if I restart from there it starts normal. what am I missing?
