Visual Pinball Wrapper problem...
« on: February 14, 2004, 05:29:59 am »
Hi,
I'm having trouble running the
New! Visual Pinball Wrapper 3.0 Suitable for Visual PinMame Beta 1.20

When I run the vplaunch2.exe and the configuration menu pops up, I try to run a table, and I get a black screen that cannot be cancelled and I have to reboot.  If you alt-tab, the black screen comes right back.

I'm running Windows XP, and the tables play fine the regular way.  I'm using Pinmame Version 1.31 and Visual Pinball tech beta 6.  Maybe the wrapper does not work with these newer versions?

Are their any support files for the wrapper I could re-install, like dll's, VB6 or anything?

Thanks for your time,

Edgedamage

I got the program to work ok, is there any way to get mamewah to launch a game with it without having to go the program?

I'm not sure where you got that from, but that wrapper has been outdated for some time.

stick it in the tables directory.... point mamewah to the wrapper instead of the vp exe.

Your done

umm you are pointing it to vplauncher, which is a visual pinball front end done by data dragon.

You can use vplaunch.exe as a front-end, but not as a way of automatically launching visual pinball tables.

You should have my vp wrapper (4th version) and point it to:

vp-launch4.exe

which should be in your tables directory of course.

The fact that the two completely unrelated programs have similar exe names is confusing I'll admit.  But since my wrapper actually launches the games while the vp launcher program simply lists them (allow you to launch)  mine is more correctly named, and thus I'm not changing it.  ;)
