"multipurpose cab" marquee
« on: February 13, 2004, 02:38:14 pm »
I'm finally ready to do sideart and marquees for my cab. While M.A.M.E. is the primary emulator that I use in the cab, I'm also using it as a jukebox (was using PartyBox, switched to VMJ, not sure which one I'll settle on).
I'm also planning on adding "casino games", a few PC games (side scrollers and a few FPS like duke-nukem) and my kid has a request for GBA emulation.
So the short idea is that it's a multi-purpose cab, and I'm not sure how to convey that it in the marquee. I just  don't want it to say "MAME", so none of the pre-canned marquees from EMKAY will work. I think I will use EMKAY for printing it though because the price is right and I hear people like the quality of their printing.
My current "prototype" marquee (in photoshop) just says "Arcade" in big letters, I have two versions and one on a pacman maze background and one on a "nebula" style starfield, quite similar to this, from another thread: http://www.arcadecontrols.com/files/Uploads/ARCADE_Marquee_Defender_style.jpg . They're serviceable but I feel like I want something more.

The cab is currently entirely black (the CP overlay is black "marbled" contact paper from home depot)

Any ideas? Any of you guys have samples of "multipurpose" cab artwork both for marquee (my current concern) and sideart (to be addressed later)
