Digital Pot Board with Memory for Makvision Tri-Sync
« on: June 19, 2019, 09:18:32 am »
From my cursory search on the subject I only found one very old thread on this which never really amounted to anything so I assume this was never pursued.  Since there are no new digital CRT arcade monitors available, I purchased an analog Makvision 29” tri-sync.  It would seem fairly trivial for someone with some electronics experience to draw up a little board with micro, digital pots and some buttons and LEDs for user feedback to replace the pot board that comes with the monitor.  The micro would, upon seeing a change in the horizontal sync rate, read it and look to see if any current values have been stored, load those if found and if not, store the pot values at some interval after adjustments have been made into nonvolatile memory such as an EEPROM.  This would essentially make the monitor digital.  Has anyone attempted something like this beyond the theoretical!

I certainly could build up such a board, but the programming would be a major challenge for me having not ever delved into it.
