AVGA res tool question
« on: February 05, 2004, 12:30:38 pm »
So I'm trying to set this up on a 25" monitor (horizontal) with the arcadevga card and I have noticed that the auto picks for vertical games aren't very good.  No problem I go into the configurations and tell it that any game over 256 lines use 256x240.  I hit generate (all) and check the ini files--it still says auto????  What step am i missing here to get it to actually use the settings that i tell it to use and not just put auto for everything?
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Did you hit the 'Auto Select' button (in the menu) before generating hte INI's??  If not all resolutions will be '???x???' and thus set to 'auto' in the INI's.

I thought hitting auto was my problem-looks like i was missing a step--show's what I know--i will try the "apply settings" and "settings..." before I hit the auto button and see if this clears it up--thanks minwah!  I must have read your readme upside down or something :-[

No problem, now you menion it I can see how that could be mis-understood.  The 'Auto Select' just means that the Res Tool does the 'auto selecting'...after that you can manually adjust any resolutions if you need to, then hit the 'Generate INI file(s)' button :)
