Mounted the joysticks and Ipac today, couldn't help myself and allready applied the artwork. Came out great, especially for the price. Payed about 10 bucks a piece.

Replace the buttons with a proper coin door or go with no buttons. The way it is now looks odd.

+1. To me a coin door is an essential part of any full-sized cabinet. It looks as weird to me without one as it would if there was no marquee. It's like $50 or less and takes 30 minutes to install - do it!

The project has been on pause for a while now because my girlfriend and I bought a house. Finally had (some) time to work in it again

And yes I know you guys don't like the coin buttons but I currently do not have the funds to replace them with a coindoor. However in the future it will be a easy replacement.

It is probably time to get a multi meter out to see what is going where so you can solder an arcade button to that mess. Or you could just set the laptop to wake on USB. Then you could just waggle a joystick to wake it up.

Try touching a piece of wire or similar between each pair of legs on the power button -- try each pair until you find which pair causes the laptop to start ( figure usually on those buttons 2 of the legs will be ground and 2 power so touching a wire between one of the ground and one of the power legs will usually act like pressing the button ) - Once you know which 2 places will get it to boot then attach(solder) a wire to each of those legs and wire to your momentary switch.

IE In pic attached - touch a wire between 1 and 2 and see if it boots if not try 3 and 4 - if still not try 1 and 3 etc. till it boots - ( my guess would be 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 should do it ) - Once you know that works then just solder a wire to each spot and use those for the 2 pins on your momentary button.

Waggle to wake sounds cool, this will be my backup plan if i can't get it working. Thanks!

I like this theme and build. I would have used a coin door though, or art on the front... And I don't know about the devil in the marquee...

Defiantly needs a coin door. Those fake coin door buttons just look out of place surrounded by all that empty space. Looks as if they were stuck on as an afterthought.

Thanks! The site is called pixartprinting.nl, they are based in Italy but ship to the whole of Europe. The control panel is screwed in place from the bottom.
