Anyone experienced with Ultrastik 360 maps and mala?

Hi, I'm just now in the process of finishing my MAME cabinet build after spending far too long designing interfaces and whatnot in Mala. I finally have it at a point where I want it.

My cabinet uses 2 Ultrastik's and I'm looking to set up custom mapping for them so when playing something like Donkey Kong or Pacman it sets itself to 4-way, while playing something like Street Fighter it'll set itself to 8-way. I've spent a while trying to find solid answers on how to do this but so far I'm getting nowhere. There's a plugin for Mala or Ledblinky can apparently do it, then I need command lines and so on... confusing

Anyone have any experience doing this in Mala and could give me a bit of a walkthrough on what to do? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

To my knowledge (I've been away from this site for a while), if you set your Ultrastiks to analog, MAME can auto-map them to 2/4/8-way.
