Preliminary CP Art:

Quasi-transparent control layout included. -- I will have some kind of art over this (directional labels, p1-4 labels, traces around components, etc.. this is just a background start)

I like the logo and the planets, but I think there are too many stars and they look too uniform. I'd recommend thinning out the starfield a bit and putting a little more variety into them.

I think that's more true of the control panel art tan the marquee, but I see what you're saying. Thanks for the tip.

Almost perfect!

Like TalkingOctopus said, you cannot really see the Arcadia name on the front edge of the CP.

How about moving it to the top of the CP?
There's more room there, it seems...

Update!!

Changed shape of CP, thinned out background, started on Control outlines..

Note:

I know the lines/grid are hard to see, and it looks like they break, but don't forget this image has been GREATLY scaled down from like 3000 pixels in width to 800...

I think the Arcadia text is moving to the top. I realize it's hard to read at these resolutions but at full res it's very easy to read so keep that in mind.

NOTE:
I had to keep the image this size so you could a least partially see some of the finer detail (Motorfish inspired control icons, Etc)..
I tried to make it smaller, but there's a lot of quality loss when going from a 44.8 in wide, nearly 13,000 pixel wide (at 300dpi) image to a 1600 pixel wide image. Going smaller almost totally loses the text/icons.. it full resolution it looks great tho.

Am i missing anything?!?! Comments/Criticisms??

I commented in your other thread, but what the heck I'll do it again here. The only thing I can think of that I might do would be to brighten some of the stars a bit in the shapes of a few familar constelations. However it looks really great as it is. Super nice work.

I just realized. I think I need some buttons for that 4 way *slaps forehead*

I'm thinking about moving that spinner up above the left set of trackball buttons, shifting that whole row over, and adding 2 buttons to the right of the 4-way.

Ok, I did forget buttons for the 4-way.. so I had to do some rearranging.

This should be FINAL. Unless there's something you guys see that's off.

I like the glow effect around the letters of the second one. It makes it much easier to read against your background. Plus it will look cool backlit. Unless your dead set on using the lightning, maybe youe could try leaving it out and using the glow letters with your 3 behind them?

I like the second one better. I thought the 3 from the first one would be cool if the cloud from the planet was shapped like a 3.

Wondefull marquee

really nice piece of art, and what I like is that is not directly arcade themed.
IMHO the first version is the one I prefer.

the CPO is also great, I'm just afraid it looks a little empty in the middle, by interstellar space is full of emptyness
