OS Question: Windows 2K or XP?
« on: January 29, 2004, 12:32:43 pm »
Hi,

I just got my computer:

Athlon XP2200
256MB Ram
GeForce 3 Video Card

I'm deciding on an OS.  I want to play all Daphne, MAME, and tons of other console emulators as smoothly as possible.

Which is the better OS?

Thanks for the help.

XP.  However, if you don't own a copy of XP and have a 2000 laying around, I'd just use 2000.

Xp doesn't need updates right out of the box like 2k does and unlike 2k it has it's drivers and engines geared towards gaming, so you won't get nasty slowdowns or incompatabilities.
