Was setting my PC up to use wii remotes for lightgun shooters.

Ordered a bunch of stuff off ebay - the last scheduled to arrive was the Wii Remote (knockoff)
So I picked up a Wii Remote (official) at Gamestop instead of waiting for the knockoff to arrive.

Got everything working with the real Nintendo controller, but now the knockoff finally shows up and can't sync it to bluetooth on PC.
Lights flash like it is searching, but never shows up as a device.

Bummer.
Not sure if there are knockoffs that work (I saw stuff about Nyko somewhere else on the forum) but not sure if they were talking about syncing with PC or with an actual Wii.

Oh well.  Knockoff was cheap.
If anyone knows a way to get everything to sync, even a knockoff... let me know so I can try it - otherwise I will just push it off to the side and ebay in another Official used wii remote.
Using the toshiba bluetooth stack currently for bluetooth connections.

I had two unofficial wii guns.  When I tried to pair the 2nd one I would get the blue screen of death.
It's been a while, but I think I determined that they both had the same internal device ID.
Every gun made by that company probably had the same ID.  :lol

Are you using a mayflash dolphin bar?
https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-W010-Wireless-Sensor-DolphinBar/dp/B00HZWEB74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497552145&sr=8-1&keywords=dolphin+bar

The device itself handles the pairing instead of the PC, which can be a help.

EDIT: more info on the dolphinbar here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,151505.msg1583774.html#msg1583774

Yo badmouth, did you confirm everything was working ok with the dolphin bar in the other thread? I might pick one up.

lol, it's on the pile of unfinished things I'll probably never have the time to get back to.
It did fix the pairing issue with my ONE gun.  I ended up not adding it to my cab because there wasn't enough room to stand back far enough anyway.
I did get my 2nd gun back, but never got around to testing it with 2 guns.

Sounds like it might not work with 2 guns outside of Dolphin emulator unless nunchucks are connected.
Amazon reviews look good.

This looks like just the thing I've been looking for.

Picked up the DolphinBar and will be testing with 2 wiimotes for use in gun games .... Here's hoping!

I've got a DolphinBar and it works great with the real 'mote, and I've yet to get the off brand working.

The generic one does not show or respond with anything when pairing.. Even if I don't have the first (official) remote paired.

Not using Mayflash Dolphin bar, just using a $3 cheapie usb sensor bar
So I don't have that going for me.  :)

Yeah, the sensor bar is just a glorified IR flashlight. It's just got 5 or so IR leds arranged in a certain way that the wii can recognize and calibrate to.

The dolphhinbar actually appears to be a bluetooth device that is specifically designed to facilitate pairing with Wiimotes.

Guess I'll find out when it comes in!

It pairs with the wiimote then reports to  the PC as either a usb mouse and keyboard or game controllers.  It takes pairing with the PC out of the equation.  The PC doesn't even need Bluetooth installed.

The Dolphinbar is amazing. I haven't tried non-Nintendo branded hardware on it, though. And I will say that I don't really like it for non Dolphin emulated gun games. I haven't tested extensively, but the wiimote is just not a great mouse pointer, at least through dolphinbar.

Also, Dolphin emu is amazing.
