Happs/UPS Shipping Problem
« on: January 26, 2004, 10:42:10 pm »
I just got home and my first big Happ shipment was on my doorstep (Bezel, Marquee Retainer, some of the sale vinyl, and Lots of buttons).  Well as I walked up the long skinny box looked a little bent and as I got closer it looked a bit cut open and taped.  I picked it up and it was surprisingly light for 9 lbs....

Sure enough the only thing in the box was the marquee retainer(the monitor bezel was in its own box and fine).

Well a picture speaks a thousand words it looked like:

(all I did was cut the tape to open it)

That is an awfully clean cut and the tape is over the UPS label so I bet it happened there.

I tried calling Happ but they were closed so I sent them off an email.

Has anyone had to deal with Happ/UPS on an issue like this before?  What should I expect to have to go through?

Thanks!

Report it to UPS as soon as possible. It will probably have to be covered by them.
My statements are my own opinions. They have the value that the reader gives them. My opinion of my opinion varies between foolish and brilliant and these opinions often change with new information.

Thanks for the suggestion - I called them and reported it.  Now I just need to hear from Happ about what to do next.

I must say I e-mailed them about another order earlier today and heard back within a few minutes.  They were helpful so I'm hoping things will go smoothly tomorrow.

Just wanted to wrap this thread up and say that it looks like Happ is on the ball.  They just wrote me to confirm what was missing and will send out the replacements soon.

Thumbs up to Happs customer service  :)

Shame that in my experience (and perhaps yours) UPS are absolutely USELESS.  I accept that all delivery companies throw things around a bit, but UPS delivered parcels always look as though they TRIED to smash the thing to bits  >:(

Glad you got it sorted in this case :)

When I got my metal DDR pads a week ago from UPS the box was torn up and the protective styrofoam was all shattered. The guy literally had to hold the box together so it wouldnt all fall apart.

Package was OK, but then again it was a solid piece of metal :P
