MAME did now work but now crashes on game start.

My MAME was working fine, however it started to crash on start of any ROM.

I deleted everything and re installed from my off PC storage (where everything came from in the first place) and I still have said problem

Can someone point me in the right direction here please?

Need way more info than that to even begin!

Run mame from a command prompt. That will usually show you where the issue is.

I am not a complete computer dunce, but also not a super user.

Run from command prompt A.K.A.  Start--->CMD--> Then what?   (how do I run the program from the command prompt?)

the location and name of your mame file plus the rom. So, if your mame executable is in c:\games, you would run the following for donkey kong:
c:\games\mame.exe dkong

Looks like my drive letter assignment had changed and my build only works when in a D:

swapped it back to D: all good now.
