ArcadeVGA and MameWah Resolution Problem !!!
« on: January 22, 2004, 03:48:08 pm »
Hi I'm having a mare with my Arcade VGA card and MameWah.
I have a Hanatrex Polo Monitor and I've got my Arcade VGA card running fine in windows. However when I run Mamewah at 640x288 res, I'm not getting all of the screen it seems to be cutting off round the borders, however when I run it @640x480 I get the full screen but it is very flickery . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I answered this by email earlier today ;)

Basically I expect your monitor is setup for horizontal games (usually ~240-256 lines), in which case some of the top/bottom lines will be cut of of your 288 line setup.

Try using 360x240, IMO this is a much nicer res as it doesn't appear stretched like 640x288 :)

Edit: Just thought I'd add that 640x480 is interlaced which is why it flickers, so generally avoid that res if possible...
