Hi everyone,

I'm doing a fresh install of my older .149 MAME. There are some files that I haven't found with .149 versions -- mameinfo.dat, history.dat, catver.ini, for example. Progetto Snaps is amazing, and has links for almost everything, but on the Arcade History site I could only find the .180 history.dat. Progetto had catver.ini, but a current version.

Are these files version-specific? Will it cause problems to use them with the older .149 MAME?

Thanks!
B

I just installed 0.127 up from 0.125. Everything works the same and even better. Some of my .chds did not work on the older version and now work. On that same note, I also tested 0.128, 0.129, 0.130 and 0.180. A lot of my roms stopped working and all my .chds also stopped working. So I dont think it matters...but maybe someone else can clarify.

Shouldn't make any difference. History.dat used to have extra linefeeds which are no longer there, so the text may be spaced a little differently.
