GroovyMAME log-less bug report purgatory thread
« on: October 27, 2016, 09:34:41 am »
So I finally made up my mind to open this thread.

If your post has been moved to this thread, the reason is you have posted a bug report without a proper log. You now have a chance to complete your bug report by adding the required log/logs to your post, using the forum's attachment feature. You don't need to apologize or anything, just attach the files and we'll be happy.

Creating a log is very easy. Just launch GroovyMAME from command line like this:

mame64 romname -v >romname.txt

(type 'mame' instead of 'mame64' if you're using the 32 bit build).

Remind that the 'mame.ini' and such configuration files are NOT a log. It's fine if you add them but only if you also post a log!

Log-less bug reports don't provide the basic information that's required in order to diagnose and fix a bug. The proliferation of unresolved bogus bug reports gives a buggy reputation to GroovyMAME that's not always fair and may scare new potential users.

Please help us improving GroovyMAME be providing good bug reports.

Thanks.

Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
