Mini Pac Man Project (4 foot dwarf cabinet!)
« on: October 22, 2016, 05:40:19 pm »
Finished my Mini Pac Man project!  Only 4-foot tall.   Custom cabinet using an original vintage unmodified 1981 Pac Man motherboard/CPU/ROMs.
Original marquee, motherboard, speaker grill, T-molding, and control panel overlay.

Your comments are much appreciated.

That is one nice build--Nice and clean and in your front room no less!  I was curious about the little machine beside it as well..
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Thank you very much for the positive feedback on my Pac Man!     The one next to it is my first custom build.  A 60-in-1.

The games only stay in my front room for about a week before "I have to" move them down to the basement game room - you guessed it, I'm married.  She just doesn't get it.  ;D

Here's a few close-ups.

Regards,

Lance

Any specific reason why you're making them so small?

I guess I've been focused on building dwarf cabinets just to save on space and for portability.
The 60-in-1 bar-top works great when placed on a table.   Sitting on a stool, Pac Man is a comfortable height to play.

Any specific reason why you're making them so small?

It depends on who you ask.   :P     I'm 5'-11".     The cabinet is perfect for my 12 year old son.

Are you a dwarf though?

Nice! I like how you kept it true to the original.

I have a 3/4 scale Donkey Kong that is about 4ft tall too. Kids love it.
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.

I've got a ~60% scale Pacman cabinet, too.  Had it 10 years, still love it.  Yours looks great.

LoL    You guys crack me up - so glad I discovered this forum.
Thanks again for the positive feedback.

Wouldn't mind seeing pics of other dwarf cabinets as well.   The Donkey Kong and Qbert minis looked really cool.

Regards,

Lance

Nice build!  If you check out my NeoGeo bartop build in my signature it started out as a bartop but I added an 18" pedestal to convert it to what looks like a dwarf cabinet.  Total height as it stands is 40"
