My adventure as a real-life cyborg
« on: October 20, 2016, 07:33:50 pm »
I've been waiting a long time for this research to go public, and since it finally did last week I want to spread it around.

Here's a short playlist I made with a video about the research study, and when I met the President last week.

I would also be extremely grateful if anyone would share my GoFundMe page around. It's for a new wheelchair van, and even if you can't spare any money sharing on social media is still helpful.

Thanks.

That is an amazing video.  Thank you for sharing it and thank you for volunteering for that research study.

That video was amazing. I just kicked in some money to your GoFundMe. I am going to share your story with anyone who will listen.

Finally we get to know what you've been up to.
Very cool stuff.

I don't do facebook, but emailed it to a half dozen friends and asked them to put it on facebook.

I have a lot of questions about how you interact with the arm.
Any plans to do an AMA on reddit?

Egocentric, but when they started showing video of your place I immediately started looking for the xbox control panel.
I see you still have it.  ;D    Has it held up?

I hadn't planned on it. You can still ask though.

That video of my house is actually 2 years old now. It still works, I haven't used it much lately because of shoulder pain though. One day I'd still like to build another with better analog sticks.

I keep my eye out for better options, but haven't came up with anything yet.  I picked up a cheap 3D printer with the ultimate goal of creating something to be fitted to regular joysticks, but haven't had time to learn 3D modeling yet.

Here's a video of me playing PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+ with only signals from my brain.

This needs to blow up (and the gofundme campaign along with it).  If a --cream-filled twinkie-- converting a bedroom into an arcade to the dismay of his fiancé can get plastered all over the techosphere, this should.

Ahh, yes! I remember someone mentioning this a while back. I also have some crazy robotic stuff I was going to share regarding my daughter with cerebral palsy and her robot legs as well but I never did.

Tonight I will, now that this has jogged my mind.

I can't wait until this is perfected.  Not only will it help tons of people but I can finally live my childhood dream of going full cyborg.  I totally want a robot hand.  ;)

I just contributed to your GoFundMe crossbred900.

Merry Christmas and thanks for your courage. Here's to you getting that van you need!
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.
