GM 0.178

From the main GM thread...

Download official mame from mamedev.org and extract files
Copy or move folder "plugins" to folder where You have groovymame 178.
Run groovymame
At the bottom the is option "Plugins", enter this one using mouse and switch highscore to "On".
Exit groovymame

Now highscore should work.

Thanks for the info Haynor, but tried this with no success, I've manually added "hiscore" to the plugins line in mame.ini and set it as active inside MAME64. Re-opened MAME64 to check it is still active and it is. Using command line to make sure its not any frontend weirdness, but out of ideas now.

Any thoughts?

Anyone else having problems enabling hiscores?

highscore has to be enabled in plugin.ini not in mame.ini.

Once again, the best way is to download whole official mame 178 package, extract it. Finally put groovymame into official (You can do this way too) mame folder and replace main executable if needed.

One thing, just make sure that mame.ini and plugin.ini are in ini folder. It does not matter. Both files can be in main folder together with mame.

Here is example plugin.ini
Code: [Select]
#
# PLUGINS OPTIONS
#
cheat                     0
cheatfind                 0
data                      1
dummy                     0
hiscore                   1
layout                    0
timer                     0

Thanks for the assistance. It looks like everything was correctly enabled but I had an old hiscore.dat in the root which was confusing things.
