19XX - Help me make sideart from this flyer?
« on: January 18, 2004, 10:20:50 pm »
hey there folks ! I'm hoping someone with much better photoshop etc skills can help me out here? I have a VERY HIGH resolution (100Mb) scan of a 19XX flyer. I am hoping to use this scan to create the side-art for my dedicated cabinet I'm making for 19XX. However, I want to have most of the text and little screen shots removed from the flyer so it looks more like typical side art rather than just a flyer resized and printed and stuck on the side of the cab. Anyone be able to help me?
I'd also like the 19XX logo (bottom right of the flyer) isolated so I can have it printed on it's own to use as front artwork (eg. for near the coin door etc).
I've included a picture of the flyer and what I'd like removed etc.
Obviously I can resize the file so it would be possible to email to someone - but I could always burn the file to CD and post to anyone willing to help me out?
The side art would need to be approx 24" wide by whatever it is in proportion high.

Anyone? Pleeeeeease ???!!!
Alex.

That's a lot of friggin work to be done.  Unless you're looking for someone to merely cutout the objects you like and place them in a different setting, such as a black background, it will not be an easy task.

Let me know if that is what you're looking for, a mere cut and paste of the plane etc.

Well - I just pretty much wanted the text removed (bottom left) - you can still make out the image underneath that text - I wanted to keep that image of the plane.
I suppose keeping the screen shots in the top right isn't too bad seeing as it must be a lot of work?
I just didn't want it looking like a flyer as the side art - So I guess I wanted to remove the text box saying 'from the people who brought you 1941' and the text on the right saying 'Another fabulous addition...' etc.
The screen shots are ok to stay.

Sorry for the vague explanation... Does that help make it any clearer?
Cheers
Alex

Thats cool either way.  Can you post the same pic without the word remove all of the lines?

Do you want the same pic? It's only 84Kb and not really hi res or large enough to print out the size needed for the side art? Or do you need it just for testing etc?

Anyway - here's the same size one without the writing etc:

Who?  Me?  Sure  ;)

I have never tried something like this, and I couldn't meet any sort of deadline unfortunately.

Do you have an idea of the shape of your cabinet?   That would be helpful if you want the side art to completely cover the sides.  How about the size of your monitor?  It will be a vertical monitor correct?  How about the size of the bezel? (you'll want matching artwork)

If you can make a bit-torrent file, and have a hi speed internet connection, that may be an alternative to sending a cd via the post office.

Unfortanutely, I don't know how to make a bit-torrent file.

;-) The cabinet is what's known in Australia as a 'Low Boy' - much like the cabaret or mini's they have in the USA. The monitor is a 20" vertical Toshiba.  I have the bezel graphics done - I just modified the 1943 bezel high quality scan from CAGA. I have the original marquee - so it's just side art I'm after.
Here's the pics. I'm just need a standard rectangular side-art piece(s). pretty much exactly as the flyer is - just large enough to print good quality.
