Good LCD for HLSL?
« on: August 01, 2016, 07:56:54 pm »
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009769

Acer XG270HU 27"
$379.99
2560x1440
144HZ
Adaptive-Sync (Free Sync)
1ms
LED Backlight
100,000,000:1

The 2k resolution will make HLSL look great.
Free sync so it can match native refresh rates with no tearing.
No vsync/triple buffering plus 1ms response time means minimum input lag.

What do you guys think? (I am still going back and forth between LCD and CRT, btw)

If it's for a two player cabinet, the viewing angle of the TN panel might not be wide enough.
Check the actual freesync range, and see if anyone has been successful with the freesync edid mod (if you need it)
Without the VESA mount option, you'll have to be creative with getting it to stay in place. The provided stand is said to be wobbly for desktop use. Can't imagine how much it would shake with someone smacking a controller near it.
