Using retropie in FBA can't move up,down,left,right

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to get Marvel vs. Capcom to work on PiFBA . I got everything working except up,down,left,right. I went to /opt/retropie/emulators/pifba/fba2x.cfg to set up my buttons but can't figure out how to set my joystick. I've read that you can press select and x to configure buttons but I'm getting nothing. I'm using an ipac2.

trying to get Marvel vs Capcom to work on lr-fba or lr-fba-next. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get the rom working. Went to https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs with no luck.
