  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Although my ROMS play fine right now, both standalone and with HyperSpin, I can't get either to show HLSL scanlines.  I have enabled HLSL within the mame.ini file and also enabled the menu options within RocketLauncherUI (Mame > Modules > MAME.ahk > Edit Global Module Settings, set HLSL within Settings and MAME to HLSL set to "true" (tried "ini" as well).  Nothing works.  Again, I verified that I have DirectX 11 running.  I'm on Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Have you checked the raster.ini file in MAME? It overrides the main ini file for raster games.
Made the MAME cabinet playable before it was finished... not quite finished, yet ;)

Thanks for the reply.  Right now I don't have a raster.ini file (MAMEUIFX 0.159 > ini).   Is it created if I make some changes within the MAMEUIFX or do I need to create or copy one from somewhere else?  Again, thanks for the guidance.  I really appreciate it.

You don't want to be using such an old version of MAME when it comes to HLSL. Setup from scratch a clean install of version 0.175 and your HLSL with MAME experience will greatly improve.

@B2K24 thanks for the quick reply.  I've tried in the past to upgrade ROMS to a later version of MAME but was unsuccessful in doing so.  What do you suggest as the easiest/best way to upgrade my 0.159 ROMS to 0.175 so I can run them on the newer emulator version?

In case you didn't follow the link in the PM I sent when I deleted your two earlier posts, Carlisimo, here is the relevant part of Rule 5.   :police:

Way to be a dick about it.

A simple "please don't post links to ROMs" would have sufficed.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.
