mortal kombat problems using IPAC....
« on: January 18, 2004, 01:10:14 am »
Hello all,
I have a perplexing problem thats really starting to bother me.  I am using the ultimarc 4 player version of the IPAC and am really having a difficult time setting up the controls to work right.
I have all the ipac setting still at the ultimarc factory default (havn't reprogrammed the ipac with any other settings) and no matter what i do, i can't get the game mortal kombat to function right.

Also, it seems that when i have the lower kick button in mortal kombat set to use the shift key, it will not let me charge the bicycle kick or if im holding the button down it wont let me move in any direction. My joystick for player one is setup using the arrow keys i believe.
I am just really frustrated here and am wondering if anyone else has run into this and if so, what did you do to solve this.

As a side note, i am wondering what layout people use when wireing up their buttons to the ipac. For example, on a typical street fighter 6 button layout, which buttons do most people assign to what input? Maybe my wire assignment to certain buttons isn't "Standard" or something. I do know that when i fired up MAME street fighter 2 for the first time, that my keys didnt seem to be set up to the standard button layouts and i had to reassign some keys to work right. I know my kick buttons needed reset at least.
So,anyways, maybe this will give someone some idea of what my problem might be and someone can give me some insight into what i need to change.

thanks,
groovy~
