  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Controller drivers
« on: June 16, 2016, 03:52:56 pm »
Hi all.  Kind of new to the arcade scene and need some help with my controller.  I bought an inexpensive Chinese set from ebay. It's supposed to be just plug n play but the drivers seem to be off.

If I plug it into a freshly installed OS, (Win 7,8, or 10), it works just fine. But if I reboot the pc or make any kind of updates to the OS, the driver seems to change, and the functionality ceases.  At this point, if you look in Devices and Printers, it now shows Chinese characters.  (When you first plug it in, it looks normal and says "USB Gamepad"}.

I've tried everything I can think of.  Looking for new drivers, can't find any.  Turned off automatic updates, only lasts until I need to tweak some things in the OS. Tried switching usb ports.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Doug
