HDMI Switch
« on: June 09, 2016, 08:58:38 pm »
Anyone have a recommendation for a good, quality HDMI Switch, 3 ports? I don't trust all the "I got a discount for my honest and unbiased review" reviews on Amazon.

I have three different models in my house.  In my experience a lot really depends on the TV.  The one that works the best for me is this one -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049S6ZUS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've had it for almost two years and it works flawlessly--albeit on an older tv.

I had high hopes for this one but when my DirecTV receiver is the primary device the audio skips really bad so I stopped using it.

Thanks.  I like that first one. My TV is about 3 years old,  so hopefully it'll work. I need it for my Blu-ray player and my Amazon Fire Stick.

Thanks for the tip! I just hooked it up and it works perfectly. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Yeah, it's awesome. I'm watching Urban Cowboy on the Fire Stick right now. Thanks again,  first beer at ZapCon '17 is on me.

Ha, I knew about that story!

That movie is one of my guilty pleasures. It's the movie I've probably seen the most in my life.

You're an old dude, James. Ever go to Gilley's?

When I lived in St. Louis that movie came on while I was snowed in and working out of my apartment.  It sincerely choked me up.   :'(

Anyway, that movie was slightly before my time but I've always had a soft spot for it.  Gilleys resurrections are regularly trotted out as development scams, but it's supposedly happening in League City for real this time.  Deer Park and Pasadena are scary as hell towns and I drive 20 miles out of my way to avoid them when I'm headed to the coast.

Texas Monthly had a nice article on Urban Cowboy a few months ago...

Thanks for the link.

A few years ago I bought Mrs. Yotsuya a Gilley's t-shirt so we can play "Ride the Bull" at home.
