I really cannot understand what's wrong with my setup... Switched from Linux to Win764bit and lates GM + CRT emudriver + tools (beta

. I have Attract mode as frontend (really nice, btw!).
I have around 100 games, mostly 15khz ones. I ran vmmaker and set the limit to 60 resolutions, because with 120 resolutions it bogged down the system (really slow boot etc.).
Now I'm really happy with the setup and started to go through each resolution in ArcadeOSD to get the settings perfectly right

I randomly tested my games and everything (both vertical and horizontal gemes) seemed to work just fine. But, I just realised that at least Mappy and Frogger both get really goofy resolutions when I launch them. For example Frogger gets something like 1920 x 240p and Mappy 400 x 320p (link to screenshot below). The image is actually almost a square and it looks like "software scaled" (I don't know the correct term here...), but there are no scanlines etc. What does this mean? I have set d3d9ex as the mode in mame.ini.
As a comparison vertical games like Bomb Jack, Contra, 1943, Burning Rubber work just fine.
