Rocketlauncher fade image

I've been trying for hours to get this to work. As far as i can see everything is set correctly, but when i launch a game in MAME, there's a fade out on the game start, but with no images...it's just blank and goes into the game!?

 

I have fades switched on in Rocketlauncher, and the files are in their correct locations - rocketlauncher/media/fade

 

i can't get my head around it.
