Makvision 29 artifacts in lower resolutions

Howdy,

Just bought a cabinet with a Makvision 29. When I play games in higher resolutions things work fine, but when playing in lower resolution game modes I get some artifacts on the screen. I have included a link to a picture showing this. I have the exact same artifacts on two different computers so I know it is a problem with the monitor. The problem shows up at the lower resolutions.

Does anyone know what is causing this, and if there is anything that can be done to get rid of the artifacts. Or am I just stuck with them at low resolutions.

Another thing to note, I have an actlabs light gun. When you put the gun in calibration mode, the screen goes completely white. Its here that I can see a diagonal line that looks like something is not correct. I am having trouble capturing that in a photo though because the screen is all white.

looks like the top (assuming the top because...top) is folded over. usually if the vertical size or position doesn't adjust this out, capacitors usually cause this. these monitors are getting pretty old... the caps are getting weak and are going to need to be replaced pretty soon. capacitor lifetimes are measured in HOURS not years. it's not uncommon for cheaper quality caps to have a lifetime of 3000 hours. even high quality caps are in the 5000 hour range before they start to drift.
