[slighlty OT] Where to print custom arcade art on a T-Shirt?
« on: January 15, 2004, 01:08:53 pm »
Does anyone know of a good online service where I can upload a vector file for them to print on the back of the T-Shirt?  (and possibly on the front pocket too).  I've seen a couple places, but I would like to hear from someone who has actually tried and can recommend one in particular.

This would be for personal use (one T-shirt only) and I wonder if using copyrighted material  (a vector Trace of classic art for example) would be an issue.

Thanks!

zazzle.com   PERIOD!

Unbelievable results. I have the BYOAC shirt they made and it is IDENTICAL quality to screen printing. (4 color process screen printing actually....a one off project for 4c process would run you about $100 for a single shirt since you'd pay about $25 per screen.) At around $12 for identical results, zazzle is absolutely the way to go. No decal....just beautiful ink infused thread. Only drawback is that the shirt needs to be a light color. But if you run the design on white it'll look amazing! There are recreations of other obviously copyrighted material people have submitted and printed there, so I don't think that'll be an issue, though officially it isn't condoned.

I went ahead and made my design.  At checkout, cheapest price is $15 + $6 shipping.  Totals $21 + tax.

Where are you seeing $12 ?!

Incidentally, what do you guys think of this design of mine?

Holy crap! :o That art is fantastic! I love the use of the mushroom for the front. Is that artwork a trickle down benefit from marquee/CPO vectorizing?

Let me know before you take it off the Zazzle site, I may want to buy one off you if that's OK. WOW. Very cool.

BTW I can't remember now where I got $12. I'll have to go look. Still, though you can beat the deal!

I created all this artwork myself.  Since I had vectorized the the Centipede bezel, it was just a matter of playing around with the vector a little.   The back is a design/layout I came up with on my own -- I think it looks pretty cool.

Anyhow, I am not planning on making this publicly available at zazzle, as there are possible copyright issues here.  (Even though it doesn't say 'Atari' anywhere, the design of the bug and possibly even the mushroom are clearly copyrighted.  No?

I think I might make a real simple version available, with the front mushroom alone (possibly centered?)

Don't centre the mushroom.  It looks great where it is.

Has anyone tried cafepress.com for printed merchandise?   How is their quality?  They have many many more products to print on, including stickers, mugs, and more...  Looks pretty good to me!

I believe Cafepress uses ink jet iron ons for t-shirts. You can get similar results with your home printer.
