Mame (0.171b) Verify: romset not found
« on: March 27, 2016, 08:41:48 am »
Hi,

I have an old mame set-up using Mame V0.164 and am building a new Mame set-up using Mame V0.171b.

One of the games I want to port is Virtua Racing (or Virtua Formula). These both work on V0.164 but they are "not found" on my V0.171b build.

Wen I run the verify command: Mame64 -verifyroms vr or  Mame64 -verifyroms vformula I get the message: romset "vr" not found!

I have copied over about 300 romsets. Some of these didn't work because I didn't have the latest romsets but the verify command highlights this. The odd thing with Virtua Racing is that the verify command cannot even find the romsets even though all my romsets are in the same directory.

Anyone any idea what is going on here?

Thanks in advance...

Robbbert

Rather than using -verifyroms, try running it, and it will tell you exactly what roms are missing.

For Virtua Racing, the newer MAME's are requiring that m1comm ROM.

Thanks so much - that has sorted it!

I spent ages trying to search for the answer so your help is really appreciated  :applaud:
