Vertical Scrolling with JROK
« on: March 04, 2016, 01:12:43 pm »
Hi All,
I have a samsung dynaflat crt and finally got the picture to display from my PC.  My issue is that it keeps scrolling vertically, it's a slow to medium pace scroll (enough where i can still open up folders and browse)  but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to stop.  I got into the service menu of the TV but I don't notice a vertical hold function, although all the adjustments are in a 2-3 letter code, i found an explanation on a pdf (i've attached it) but nothing says about vertical hold.

Here are my specs:
CRT Emudriver beta 2.x on a HD4850 card-------JROK transcoder-------component out to samsung dynaflat tv.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated, this is my last step before I can put the finishing touches on the cabinet, I'm antsy!!

Thanks!!
John

UPDATE:: I've been working on it all day and it's gotten a little better....maybe.  I got it to stop scrolling, but the only way to do that was to have my lcd plugged into the other DVI port.  Once I unplug the lcd monitor the picture goes haywire.

But once they are both plugged in the picture on the crt is anything but good, it's wavy (not across the whole screen but its almost like its out of focus) and it'll jump like it wants to starts scrolling vertically from time to time.  This is just in windows (640x480), I haven't gotten to start with all the different resolutions yet.

UPDATE:: Just wanted to post my solution in case anyone searches for this in the future.

I went on eBay and purchased a extron RGB converter for $20 (I got the 109xi).  I hooked it all in and it solved 99 percent of the issue.  The picture was great but the only issue was there was a bit of background noise in the picture, there were snowy lines scrolling in the background.  I found the issue to be the power for the JROK, I had originally used the PC power supply and ran the power to a molex connector.  So I found an old 5V phone power adapter and hacked off the end, wired it up and the picture looks perfect.

I highly recommend the converter, the picture is fantastic, now I have an arcade monitor for the grand total of  about $100 including the craigslist TV.
