Splicing New Flyback G2 Wire to Old G2 NeckBoard Connector?
« on: February 17, 2016, 07:41:08 pm »
Ive got a K7000 with an old flyback that has a plastic connector at the end of its G2 that makes it easy to plug an unplug it from the neckboard (instead of soldering it straight to the neckboard).

I cant seem to pull that connector off of the old G2 wire to put onto the new G2. Would it be safe to cut the old wire and splice/solder it to the new wire, then HEATSHRINK it together, or can an arc come out of that even with heatshrink?

Ive seen people do this on videos but never saw if everything went well after they turned the game on.

THANKS!

just remove the header pin and solder the wire direct, there is no reason to need/want to remove the g2 wire in any case-unless replacing the flyback

Yeah that was my second option if splicing the old pin connector to the new G2 was questionable...Ill probably just end up soldering direct to board. Thx
