I finally found the time to write this up so figured I'd drop a link here for you lot.

In Summary
Kid broke tablet -> replaced digitiser with acrylic -> hacked psx controller -> built mini cab.

All stuff I had on hand, no $s dropped. My tools were used for the first time in 15yrs building this.

Nice idea.  I've got a cheapo tablet with a bad battery sitting in the drawer.  Might do this myself.
