Hiding Windows 7 - coming out of test mode?
«

As i said in a previous post, I've managed to get Super Resolutions working, so I'm on with trying to hide Win 7 as I used to with XP. Unfortunately a lot of the changes and edits I'm trying to make with various progs (such as boot anim) don't seem to be taking effect.
It got me wondering if it was because I'm still booting into test mode. Does anyone know if it is safe to exit out of test mode now that crt emudrivers are correctly installed or will it cause probs?
Failing that a guide for hiding Win 7 that works (I'm currently following this one (
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,113896.0.html
)would be lovely.

Test mode has no side effect that I know of, apart from the watermark than can only be disabled by patching some Windows files. If you disable test mode, the drivers just won't get loaded.

Thanks for the confirmation, the watermark doesn't bother me at all as hopefully shelling my FE will hide the desktop entirely (haven't gotten that far yet) Have you had any success with hiding windows?
