Issues with Eygo 19" Monitor
« on: January 26, 2016, 11:48:11 pm »
I am trying to build my first MAME cabinet. I purchased an old Mortal Kombat machine that someone had repainted - there is an Eygo 19" CRT monitor installed in it at the moment, but I am having some issues with it. It powers on, but the image is shown 3 times on the screen. I've tried adjusting the couple of controls that I have access to to no avail. I have attached a pic of what is happening. If at all possible, I would like to save/repair this monitor, but if it is not saveable, what would be the best way to replace it?

but the image is shown 3 times on the screen.

Sounds like you are supplying a VGA (31khz) signal into a CGA (15khz) monitor.
Research a video card like ArcadeVGA or software like Powerstrip or Soft-15khz.

I don't personally mess with this sort of thing much, so maybe others can be more specific.

Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

I'll look into that software, but would something like this help?
