Maximus Arcade / Snes9x1.53 issues - Help!
« on: January 26, 2016, 10:14:04 pm »
Using latest verion of Snes9x (Weaponlord voices are poyfect) with Maximus.  Upon game launch, either jumps to emulator window or "invalid zip file blah".  Do I need to regress to an earlier version, or clear a cache?  I know on my last pc (before W10) I got it to work... Any help is appreciated.

Im still new but i use snes9x, so far ive only had problems with corrupted files and fakes. I suggest refoenliafing the file then try again. If still no try another site.

I use a laptop to move games to my MAME cocktail and sometimes when im trading it will corrupt the file.

Problem solved!!!
1) checked emulate fullscreen and stretch in snes9x video options
2) added, %file -fullscreen to Maximus launch command lines (-fullscreen by itself won't do)
3) Snes9x wants .sfc roms with NO spaces in the names (and not zipped, as I discovered)
4) I unzipped all of my roms and used a batch extension renamer to 'vert my .smc's (which was listed in scanned file types by Maximus, but never worked) to .sfc's and then used a little program that batch removes spaces in the names(you can choose to squish or replace with underscores).
5) Told Max to rescan media folders, and not only did it launch fullscreen, with no menu bar or windowed, but all of my roms launched like a charm!

I hope this helps...whew. ^_^
